The portrait studio has re-opened. See below for precautions being taken with regard to COVID-19.

• I am only booking solo & pet sessions at this time.

• Due to the small size of my studio, only one person (the person being photographed, or 1 person with pet/s) + the photographer will be in the studio during a session. Family & friends should refrain from attending your session for now.

• Sessions will not be longer than 30 minutes.

• I will wear a mask at all times during the session.

• I will clean door knobs and other commonly touched areas of my studio immediately after each session ends.

If you have questions or concerns, or if you would like to inquire about special accommodations not listed here, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your interest in my portrait work. I specialize in fine art studio portraiture for one person (solo sessions), two people (duo sessions), and pets. I have a studio in my home in Lubbock, Texas, and I often schedule portrait tours to other areas across the state and beyond, as well as portrait booths as a vendor at professional conferences throughout the year.

My portraits are less about documentation and more about expression. I use light and shadow to create depth and drama in my portraits, visually and emotionally. I use primarily dark backgrounds, including classic black seamless paper as well as my own hand-painted canvas drops in dark earth tones. While much of my inspiration comes from Renaissance painters Caravaggio and Rembrandt and Baroque painter Gentileschi, I enjoy creative experimentation in the studio (my long exposure images of musicians playing their instruments are popular). My ultimate goal when I pick up the camera is to create art.

“Tif is amazing to work with. Not only is she an incredibly skilled and creative photographer, but she thinks outside the box and focuses on the individual subject for every shoot.”

“[Tif] has a great eye for bringing out the personalities of the people she photographs. Her photos tell stories.“

"You capture people’s songs and remind them of them. You sing what people may have forgotten or might not have been able to see.”

“Every time I see your images I feel like I understand, even if I can’t articulate it accurately in words, what you are saying/showing/giving voice to.”
